Privacy policy

Videos never leave your machine. With AI replies on, the comment text and the product description pass through our server to Anthropic, and we do not store the comment or the reply.

That is the policy in one sentence. The rest of this page spells out the same facts.

Who this covers

This policy is for getsidelive.com and the SideLive Chrome extension. SideLive is the name of the product. There is no separate company. Write to support@getsidelive.com.

Videos

Your clips live in Chrome on your computer and are never uploaded. We do not host them, transcode them, or keep a copy. There is no SideLive account to create for media. You paste a license key.

Comments and AI replies

Nothing in the live chat is sent anywhere unless you turn AI replies on. When you do, the comment text, the name of the person who wrote it, and the pinned product description pass through our server to Anthropic, the company that runs the model. Anthropic receives that text to generate the reply. We do not store the comment or the reply, and we do not keep a log of what was asked or what was answered.

We do keep a count of how many AI replies a license has used that day, so we can enforce the daily cap. That count is a number, not the text.

The model is instructed to answer only from the pinned product listing. It can still be wrong.

License and payment

Checkout is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. The email you type at payment is the email of the license: the key shows on the confirmation page and is sent to that inbox. You can ask us to resend the key to the same email.

To run the license we keep that email, the license key, and which computers are activated (up to two at a time). We do not log in to your TikTok account.

If the subscription ends we mark the license inactive. We keep the email, the key, and the activation record so you can resend the key or come back. Ask support@getsidelive.com if you want that deleted.

Manage subscription opens Stripe's Customer Portal. Card details and billing history on that page are Stripe's, not ours.

Advertising and analytics cookies

When you visit getsidelive.com we show a cookie banner. If you accept, we load two third-party tools.

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook): sets a first-party cookie (_fbp) that identifies your browser across visits, and a click cookie (_fbc) when you arrive from a Meta ad. These let us measure which ads lead to purchases and improve them over time. Meta's data practices are covered by Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity: records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can see where visitors get stuck or drop off on the page. Clarity does not collect personal information such as passwords or payment details. Microsoft's data practices are covered by Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

If you decline the banner, neither tool loads. You can change your choice by clearing your browser's local storage for getsidelive.com and reloading.

Purchase event reporting

When you complete a purchase, our server sends a conversion event to Meta's Conversions API. This event includes your email address in hashed form (SHA-256, a one-way transformation) and the purchase amount, so that Meta can match the sale to the ad that brought you here without us sharing your raw email. This happens server-side regardless of whether you accepted the banner, because it is a record of a transaction you initiated, not a tracking cookie.

When you activate your license key in the extension for the first time, our server sends a CompleteRegistration event to Meta in the same hashed form. This tells us whether people who paid actually installed the extension.

What we do not do

  • We do not store comments or AI replies.
  • We do not receive your videos.
  • We do not log in as you on TikTok.
  • We do not sell or share your data with anyone except as described above (Anthropic for AI replies, Meta for purchase reporting, Stripe for payment processing).
